Privacy Policy
This policy describes Driftwave’s soundscapes, favorites, saved selections, listening history, manual sleep log, optional subscriptions, and support.
Information on your device
Sound is synthesized on your device. Favorites, recent library sessions, saved selections and manual sleep entries are stored locally. Your mood check-in and custom session settings are temporary. Driftwave does not upload this listening or sleep data. It does not access your microphone, camera, location, contacts or HealthKit. There is no Driftwave cloud account.
Purchases and support
If subscriptions are enabled in the iPhone app, Apple processes payment and RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase history, entitlement status and device/app information needed for purchase verification and restoration. We do not receive your Apple Account password or full payment card details. You can use free features without making a purchase.
If you contact support, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid sending private sleep information unless needed for your request.
Website delivery
Cloudflare delivers the public website. The browser app is also hosted through OpenAI Sites. Hosting providers receive ordinary connection information such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information for delivery and security. The app includes no advertising SDK, behavioral analytics or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Purposes and legal bases
We process purchase information to provide paid features and perform our contract; support information to respond to your request; and necessary operational information for legitimate interests in reliable, secure service and compliance with legal obligations. Where consent is required, we obtain it. Optional local sleep entries are not transmitted to us.
Providers and international processing
Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare and OpenAI may process relevant information outside your country under their policies. Where we appoint processors, we require appropriate data-protection terms and safeguards for international transfers where required. See Apple Privacy, RevenueCat Privacy, Cloudflare Privacy and OpenAI Privacy.
Retention and deletion
Recent sessions are limited to 12 library items and the sleep log to 14 entries. Local favorites and saved selections remain until deleted. Use You → Delete local data to clear Driftwave’s local listening records, or clear website data in your browser. Local deletion does not cancel subscriptions or delete legally required purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat. Contact support to request access or deletion of support or subscription-related records. We retain support records only for as long as reasonably needed for the request, legal obligations and disputes. Infrastructure logs follow the hosting providers’ retention and account settings.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, and the right to complain to a competent data-protection regulator. EU/UK users may contact their local supervisory authority; Australian users may contact the OAIC. We respond to valid requests as required by applicable law and do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
Children and changes
Driftwave is intended for people aged 13 and over, with a parent or guardian’s involvement for minors. Local consent requirements still apply. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information contrary to this policy. We may update this policy when features or practices change; material changes will be notified where required.
